What is MOMCo? (formally MOPS)

MOMCo encourages and equips moms of all aged children to realize their potential as mothers, women, and leaders in relationship to Jesus.

We believe moms can change the course of history. That’s why we connect moms to a community of women in their own neighborhoods, who meet together to laugh, cry, and embrace the journey of motherhood. MOMCo groups are rallying women to be more honest, to feel more equipped, and to find one's identity by journeying alongside one another.

When you visit MOMCo, you can expect that there will be a warm welcome and an interesting speaker or video. You will meet other women who are in (or have been) in your stage of life.

MOMCo Kids is a place your kiddo (4 months - Kindergarten) will be happily received and cared for. They'll enjoy a story, games and a snack. Reservation is required for your child to participate in MOMCo Kids. Reserve your child's spot at our next meeting using the sign-up form linked to our private Facebook page or emailing kristy.arnold@mercercreek.org. Please reserve your spot by noon the day before the meeting. Babies under four months are encouraged to attend and stay in the room with mom.

Our MOMCo group meets in person on the first and third Wednesday of each month September - May, 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. in the Commons. Our first official meeting for the 2026-27 year will be on September 23rd. If you have questions about MOMCo, contact kristy.arnold@mercercreek.org.

MomCo Theme Good Company 2026-27 & Dates

  • Analog Friendship: Trading digital isolation, endless scrolling, and heavily curated online lives for tangible, in-person presence.
  • Spontaneous Connection: Returning to a time when community meant dropping by for a quick visit rather than scheduling calendar invites weeks in advance.
  • Strangers Becoming Family: Creating deep, vulnerable support systems where moms realize they were never meant to do motherhood alone.
  • Good Trouble: Embracing a disruptive, active kind of love and support that shows up for other women when life gets heavy.

My Journey Into MomCo & Volunteer Requests for the Fall
I hope you are okay with me telling you a short story about my journey into MomCo. Being a stay-at-home-mom with my five and three year old boys was a fun, hard, & beautiful season. Yet with the 3rd on the way–that pregnancy was my hardest and I had reached a low point. At the end of my third pregnancy I was sick for about 6 weeks, and it felt hard to get out of bed. My kids were watching PBS Kids and WALL-E on repeat. I felt physically and emotionally sick, guilty for not being able to show up for the kids sitting in my living room, alone (even though I had some amazing friends and husband caring for me), and a lot of sadness about everything. Life felt very overwhelming, and I wasn’t sure if I felt up to the task of doing much of anything. And yet, I was so grateful for the big and small ways God supported me through that time and one of those ways was by getting plugged into MomCo (formerly MOPs). Walking into MOPs was a huge risk for me at the time tbecause showing up felt hard. This is what I knew though, I needed a few more people in my life that knew exactly what I was going through. I needed a meal that was made for me most weeks, I needed a few hours where I felt my kids could be cared for and have fun while I had a grown up conversation. Two hours, two times a month. The most amazing thing was that I was not alone on this journey! Fast forward ten years and now I’m leading MomCo! I remain very passionate about supporting moms from pregnancy into motherhood. This is my personal invitation for you to become a part of our MomCo community. There are four ways you can be involved in this year’s ministry to moms in our county: One: If you know a mom that has Wednesday mornings free, we would love to meet her! MomCo represents moms of all churches and spiritual backgrounds. We gather on the unifying fact that we need each other and we all bring our beautiful, messy selves to be seen and loved. We talk about growing in our faith and real life issues; like body changes, parenting, friendships, grief, and joys. Two: We have volunteer positions to provide care for these little ones while their moms get a well deserved chance to learn and connect. There are 14 MomCo meetings throughout the school year on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 8:45 to 11:15. Are you someone who would see the value and would be excited and willing to pour into the kids and make MomCo an amazing time for them? I can assure you that these moms are so grateful for the time invested hanging out with their little ones. Three: If you have a few years of being a mom behind you, we would love to have you on our team to connect and share with younger, new moms. It really does take a village to raise our little ones and we love the wisdom passed down. Four: Pray for the lonely, weary, stressed mom to find these ministries and be blessed by them! Here I have identified some specific details about our kid care volunteer opportunities: Tuesday Morning Bible Study Two people & two back ups for a school year commitment. Every Tuesday 8:45 to 11:15 am. Four weeks off for Christmas break in December off and we end in the middle of May. Wednesday Morning MomCo and MomCo Leadership Big Group MomCo We have 14 group meetings in the school year. The time commitment is 8:45 to 11:15am. We would really appreciate a year commitment, but open to a quarterly serving or signing up to be on our back up list. MomCo Leadership Meetings Second Wednesday of each month from 9:15 to 11 ish.
